Today, the "2006 International Cooperation Summit for Asia-Pacific CEOs & Provincial Governors and Mayors"has opened officially in Wuxi. In the year 2005, the first International Cooperation Summit for Asia-Pacific CEOs & Provincial Governors and Mayors was held in the beautiful city of ecology-- Miyun, Beijing. It had not only realized the contact and interaction between Asia-Pacific countries,and the connection of Mainland China and Hongkong, but also a consultation meeting by CEOs, advanced financial experts and government officials. And here, today, we get together again in Wuxi--a beatiful Pearl of Taihu. We believe that this summit held in one of the richest districts of China will write a new chapter in the legends of the prosperity of Asia-Pacific countries. Now on behalf of the Asia-Pacific CEO Association, as president of the Association, I ‘d likd to express my congratulations to the opening of the Summit, and especially I’d like to show my sincere gratitude to Wuxi Municipal Government for your great support! Welcome all the guests!
The Asia-Pacific CEO Association is a well-known international union of CEOs with outstanding international entrepreneurs, investors, financial experts as its members and leaders. It is the highest leve of this kind in Asia-Pacific areas. The headquaters of the Association is in the United States, and it has subordinate branches and executive offices in Toronto, Sydney, Hongkong, and Peking. We believe that the Asia-Pacific CEO Association will be a very important channel for economic and commercial communication between the CEOs and experts in Finance and Economy in Asia-Pacific region. And the International Cooperation Summit for Asia-Pacific CEOs & Provincial Governors and Mayors is a coordinated and closed meeting among the administrative officers in Asia-Pacific region and world-class CEOs all over the world held by the Asia-Pacific Association since the year 2005. The summit is of great and profound international significance.
The International Cooperation Summit for Asia-Pacific CEOs & Provincial Governors and Mayors is for the purpose of ”make progress on the basis of global economic development and with human progress in mind”. It’s devoted to promoting the cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment between the Asia-Pacific countries through the most direct and effective way of communication, that is one to one, face to face. This Summit has invited elites from all walks of life in 25 countries and districts from Asia-Pacific region, involving in many new economies and new industries, such as the software industry, financial securities, airlines, modern services, new energies and digital technology. The Summit is focused on the theme of "Promoting the prosperity of Asia-Pacific region on the basis of innovation" actively leading the governments to cooperate and communicate with large enterprises in many areas and through various channels. It is an international platform to promot the direct communication and cooperation between them to have win-win results. We firmly believe that this Summit is a conversation to seize the present, and prepare for the future, and it’s surly going to have profound significance in the economic development of the Asia-Pacific region as well as the whole world.
